  • Ported Linux kernel and userspace control software to a custom STM32F7 based platform for the Hefring Oceanscout underwater glider *Added features and fixed bugs in Linux based glider firmware that runs cross platform on an i.MX8, STM32F7 and in simulation on x86_64
  • Developed bare metal firmware in C for glider peripheral processors (PIC16, PIC18, PIC24E)
  • Optimized power consumption (processor sleep, control loop tuning, etc.) to achieve a one month endurance goal
  • Redesigned motor controller firmware to reduce power consumption and fix bugs
  • Ran glider field tests and supported customer deployments
  • Supported glider manufacturing including glider ballasting and buoyancy engine assembly

  • Developed software for IceNode, a buoyant vehicle that will autonomously traverse under the Antarctic ice sheet to measure melt rates
